How technology shapes our mental health: a conversation on the UCS Podcast

I joined Richard Everard, Course Leader for Computing and Digital Technologies at University Centre Somerset, for a conversation on the UCS Podcast about how technology shapes our mental health.

Bringing together our perspectives from counselling and computing, we explore how digital technology has changed the ways we learn, communicate and relate to one another. We discuss social media, screen time and the habits that can develop in an always-connected world.

We also consider the growing role of artificial intelligence in education and mental health support, reflecting on its possibilities and challenges.

At the heart of the conversation is a question: how can we use technology thoughtfully while making space for our wellbeing and our relationships?
